How is your new school year turning out? This September, I decided to get a little more organized and try out a couple Planners, a new approach to prayer journaling, take a stab at bullet journaling and reign in a plethora of passwords.
I checked out a number of secular planners and calendars including cheap little ones from the dollar store and this beautiful Happy Planner.
Sync your Schedule with the Saints!
DIY Old School Password Vault
Do you ever get overwhelmed with passwords…on everything from email to swimming lesson registration? Everyone knows that we’re not supposed to use the same password for everything…and different password interfaces have their own requirements with password length and special characters. Then, upon getting locked out of an account set up years ago…you might be faced with replacing passwords with new ones…let alone new email addresses and added email addresses for the kids. Where do they all go? Check out our Old School Password Vault.
Month of May ~ Month of Mary
Can you believe it? The Month of May starts this Sunday! May is devoted to Our Lady…so here’s a quick little showcase of Mary and Rosary crafts!
Our oversized wood bead Rosary is always a hit at the conferences we attend. This is a pretty simple craft made with wooden beads, a wooden cross and a wooden heart, acrylic paint and mod podge…and it’s one of the favorites in our book A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families!
Super Cute Bible Tags: Super Cute Size!
Bible Journaling is really popular out there! We Catholics don’t have an easy option available yet (Catholic Publishers, please release a Catholic Journaling Bible soon!), so we’ve been taking matters into our own hands!
DIY Journaling Bible
Last week, I posted a picture tutorial for turning my softcover Catholic Bible into a DIY Hardcover Bible! Since there seems to be a shortage on Catholic Bibles formatted for journaling, some crafty Catholics have been transforming their Catholic Bibles into journaling Bibles by painting over the notes! That’s what I’ve been doing!
DIY Hardcover for Catholic Bible Journaling
I’ve been eyeing this Journaling Bible, but I haven’t hit the buy button because it’s not a Catholic translation. There is the NRSV Notetaker’s Bible which is an approved Catholic translation, but it’s out of print and crazy expensive!
Easter is 50 Days!
Banking on our experience from prior years, I think there is a natural tendency to pack a whole lot of celebrating, feasting and chocolate-eating on Easter Sunday and maybe even this whole week…but we tend to forget that we are still in Easter celebration mode until Pentecost, especially after the chocolate runs out.
The Play Mass Kit
I’ve been planning to make a Play Mass kit for a couple years now and just started collecting the pieces a few months ago.
Before he even knew I was making the Play Mass Kit, Adam just recently started playing Mass in the living room.
Priest Car
So, 5 year old Adam saw the pieces I’ve received in the mail to make our first ever Play Mass kit. He asks me everyday if it’s finished. When I told him that I also needed to make some priest vestments…he dragged my sewing machine up for me, from the basement. It took 2 hands…and a little dragging, but the sewing machine still works. =)
